Y.Laniuk, Sinfonia Concertante “Transfiguration” for Violin, Viola and Orchestra.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was inspired to compose his Sinfonia Concertante for Violin, Viola and Orchestra by one of the best orchestras of his time. The Court Orchestra of Mannheim was known for its ability to harmonize and its strict attention to detail, which became the standard for orchestras in general for several centuries.
The contemporary composer Ukrainian Yurii Laniuk, has drawn his inspiration from the Sinfonia Concertante. In his Sinfonia Concertante “Transfiguration”, Laniuk does not use Mozart's musical themes. Instead, he experiments with the colourful sound for the virtuoso soloists and orchestra.
The soloists for the evening performance are the well-known, young European musicians Tobias Feldmann (violin) and Muriel Razavi (violin).
